Leela announced the close of a $4.6M seed round on October 12, 2026, as it emerged from stealth. Array Ventures and Female Founders Fund co-led the round. Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, The Council, and a group of angel investors also took part.
Leela was founded in 2026 and is based in the United States. It builds an agentic generative AI platform for legal and compliance professionals at U.S.-regulated financial businesses. The platform supports these teams from start to finish.
A central feature is the audit trail. Leela lets teams keep records and evidence of AI-generated work, which matters in an industry where regulators expect firms to show how decisions and outputs were produced.
The company will use the funding to hire for engineering and compliance-focused roles. It also plans to build new integrations, so the platform fits teams running different technology stacks.
